In 2018, Rebuilding Together Southeast Michigan was evolved from Rebuilding Together Oakland County as part of a multi-year strategic plan to include Wayne and Macomb Counties to our service area. Starting small, we were welcomed into the Jefferson-Chalmers neighborhood where we completed our first Detroit projects. Today, we are incredibly excited to announce that we will now be accepting applications from all of City Council District 4 in Detroit. Our vision of service area expansion is growing and we couldn’t be happier.
Detroit’s 4th District is on the East side of the city and includes the following neighborhoods: Jefferson-Chalmers, Morningside, Cornerstone Village, Conner Creek Industrial, Mapleridge, Gratiot-Findlay, Chandler Park, Yorkshire Woods, Eden Gardens, Outer Drive-Hayes, Denby, Moross-Morang, Gratiot Woods, Mack Avenue, LaSalle College Park, Ravendale, East English Village, Wade, Fox Creek, and Chandler Park-Chalmers. If you or someone you know lives in one of these neighborhoods and could benefit from free home repairs, send them our way! (Our online application is here: https://rebuildingtogethersem.secure.force.com/homeownerapplication/)
It has taken a lot of hard work and persistence to get to this point but we are so thankful that we can officially expand our service area. Without the help of our Jefferson-Chalmers community partners, homeowners, and volunteers this wouldn’t be possible. We hope that we can continue to grow our services in the future in our ongoing mission to repair homes, revitalize communities, and rebuild lives.
